Well, what f*cking year this week has been!

Hundreds of freelancers and sub-contractors use Vism and we’ve been thinking of you all with everything that’s going on.

We hope you and your family are staying home wherever you can and staying safe.

The good news is, the government just announced (finally!) some support for freelance and self-employed people.

Up to 80% of average earnings over the last 3 years is to be made available.

BUT, this won’t apply to all of you. It’s for those that are registered self employed. It doesn’t apply if you are running a Ltd company.

Here’s the detail: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/chancellor-gives-support-to-millions-of-self-employed-individuals

For those running a Ltd company, we’re doing everything we can to try and get some info to share with you. According to advice from the Business Support Helpline who we called yesterday morning, you can furlough yourself if you’re not going to be working, and claim 80% of your PAYE salary, but not dividends.

The best thing you can do right now is speak to your accountant if you have one. If we find out anything more we’ll be sure to share it with you right away.

You may also want to check whether you are eligible for Universal Credit: https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/eligibility

We hope you’re all doing OK. I realise this is a difficult time. If you want to talk, business or not, I’m happy to listen, to anybody, any time, about absolutely anything.

Stay safe, and PLEASE, stay home. ❤

All the best

Dan
