Vism, the producer of an innovative project management software system specifically designed and built for the sign and graphics installation industry, is sponsoring one of the leading categories at the upcoming 2019 British Sign Awards.
Vism’s commitment to the British Sign Awards
The annual British Sign Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements of sign businesses across the UK. All 12 of the award categories are designed to acknowledge and celebrate the skills and creativity of British signmakers and provide tangible rewards to some of the best sign businesses in the country.
The British Sign Awards are now in their seventh year and have grown into an event showcasing the best in creative signage talent and craftsmanship. They also highlight the latest trends and advancements in signage technology and engineering.
“This year’s awards look like being the biggest and best to date and we are delighted that Vism has agreed to sponsor one of the award categories. As well as celebrating the fantastic work completed by signmakers over the past year, the awards ceremony brings the whole industry together in a unique atmosphere but without the active support of businesses like Vism none of it would be possible.” said Ray Hirst, Organiser of the Awards.
Vism, which aims to reduce time spent on administrative tasks in the signage, graphics and installation industries by up to 50%, has sponsored the Roll-Out Programme of the Year award which celebrates the best and most effective multi-sign/multi-site signage designs and installations across the UK.
How Vism helps signage firms project manage their installations
Vism was specifically designed to simplify and streamline the project management process for signage and graphics installations. Vism takes messaging apps, spreadsheets, calendars and document storage, and replaces them with one optimised software platform and mobile app.
This allows installation managers to easily allocate and manage work with sub-contracted agencies and freelance installers as well as obtain final sign-off from clients. Dedicated smartphone apps have also been created for installers enabling on-the-go access to detailed briefs, site and travel information and instant messaging. On-site installers can use the app to upload a photo and complete the job.
The platform boasts a robust set of features for signage firms looking to manage multiple projects and client accounts.
This includes a calendar that colour codes all jobs and gives you the option of a daily, weekly or monthly overview. Active installations can be viewed through the job board which includes filtering and search tools. New jobs can be easily uploaded in bulk via a CSV upload tool and scheduled, enabling project managers to organise projects by status or client.
Additional features include the ability for team members (both inhouse and freelance) to create detailed profiles within the Team database. This makes it incredibly simple for project managers to search for freelance installers and suppliers within their network by qualification, skills and availability and then send out invites to those deemed appropriate for specific jobs.
Installers can use the iOS and Andriod apps which connects to Vism’s platform to accept job invitations and view detailed briefs and updates for specific installations. They can provide sign-off for each job by uploading photos and a signature to be reviewed by the project manager.
Key installations for Macroart and VGL have already been implemented through the platform, showing just how smooth and seamless installation management can be.
Vism: New members of the ISA UK
As part of its ongoing commitment to the UK signage industry, Vism has recently become a member of the International Sign Association (ISA) UK, formerly known as the British Sign & Graphics Association (BSGA). Their membership puts them in good company with the UK’s most innovative small and large sign-making businesses.
The BSGA’s recent affiliation with the ISA means that Vism now has an even bigger reach to help shape and develop the global signage industry, forging strategic partnerships with companies that are looking to improve signage for local communities by adopting best practices and emerging trends.
Signage firms interested in exploring the possibilities of the Vism platform can arrange a free 15-minute demonstration, hosted by a member of the Vism team. Vism will review your current installations and project management process and demonstrate where Vism can streamline the process.
